Lake Area Stays is a brand of Preston Palmer Properties, LLC, an Arkansas limited liability company. We operate a small portfolio of vacation rentals on Arkansas’s Greers Ferry Lake. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website or book a stay, how we use it, who we share it with, and how we protect it.

Information we collect

When you browse this website, we collect basic technical information automatically: your IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. This is standard server log data used to keep the site running and to spot abuse.

When you make a reservation, request a quote, or fill out our contact form, you provide us with: your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, the dates and property you’re interested in, the number of guests in your party, and payment information.

If you opt in, we may collect your preferences for marketing emails and remarketing pixels.

How we use it

We use your information to:

Process your booking and payment, including taxes and any add-ons such as travel insurance or damage protection.
Send you reservation confirmations, arrival instructions, your digital guidebook, and other transactional messages related to your stay.
Respond to inquiries, questions, and support requests.
Comply with our legal obligations, including Arkansas state and local lodging tax filings.
Improve the website, our messaging, and the guest experience.

Who we share it with

We share your information only with service providers we use to operate our business, and only the minimum information they need to do their job:

OwnerRez — our reservation management system. Hosts the booking record, guest contact info, and lease agreement.
Stripe — our payment processor. Receives your payment card details to process charges. We do not store your full card number on our servers.
Touch Stay — our digital guidebook provider. Receives your name and booking dates to personalize your guide link.
Generali / Rental Guardian or similar — if you purchase travel insurance at checkout, your booking details are shared with the insurer to issue the policy.
Avalara MyLodgeTax — our tax-filing service. Receives transaction amounts (not personal contact info) for state and local lodging tax filings.
Airbnb and Vrbo — if you booked through one of these channels, your reservation flowed through their systems.
Google Workspace — our business email provider, used to send and receive correspondence with you.
Our hosting and CDN providers — WP Engine and Cloudflare deliver the website and protect against fraud.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We will only disclose your information outside of these service relationships if required by law (subpoena, court order, lawful government request), or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

How disclosure happens

Information is transmitted to the service providers above over encrypted HTTPS connections and stored within their secure cloud environments. We do not email your payment information, never post it publicly, and never give it to other guests.

How we protect it

The website is served over HTTPS with TLS encryption.
Payment card details are tokenized by Stripe and never stored in plain text on our systems.
Our hosting and database systems use industry-standard access controls, including unique admin accounts, strong passwords, and two-factor authentication where supported.
We review who has access to guest data periodically and remove anyone who no longer needs it.

Your choices

You can ask us to delete your information after your stay is complete and any legal retention period has passed. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link at the bottom of those emails. You can decline our cookies through your browser settings — note that some site features may not work as expected if you do.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies to keep the site running (session cookies, security cookies, and basic analytics). We may add marketing or remarketing cookies in the future. If we do, we will update this policy and disclose them clearly.

Children

This site and our rentals are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
